Frequently Asked Questions

I get a lot of the same questions, so I thought it would be beneficial if I answer some of the more common ones.

Q: You seem to have a complicated ratings system! Did you create it yourself, or did you find it somewhere?
   A: I wrote my own ratings system because I'm a detail-oriented person, and breaking things down into half-stars wasn't quite enough for me. It is unique to Sparkles and Lightning.

Q: How does your ratings system work? Can I know?
   A: Unfortunately, I am only making my ratings system available to publishers, publicists, and authors at this time dues to copyright and plagiarism issues. You can find a basic rundown here, and in the future I may become more open to sharing my personal ratings system.

Q: Why did you start blogging?
   A: I love to read, and I use blogging to help me keep track. It is also a wonderful way for me to share my reads and reviews with other readers!

Q: Why do you write "fine" at the end of all of your reviews?
   A: "Fine" is actually Italian for "end!" I am an Italian speaker and adding that at the end is just my way of signing off on my reviews. It's just a little quirk of mine.

Q: What's your ARC policy? What do you do with them?
   A: Sometimes if they're signed or the cover if different or I just really like them, I'll keep them. More often I give them away. Sometimes I'll host a giveaway for one, but more likely I'll give them to my friends. I also give them freely to other bloggers if they ask.
