v day giveaway 2013 photo 11a7da21-6d97-4cb9-91f0-7215e493ad3a_zpse4fdba45.jpg
Hi there, roses! Happy Valentine's Day! It's February 14th, obviously, which also happens to be my boyfriend's birthday. I'm not necessarily the biggest proponent of Valentine's Day, but I don't hate it either. I think a guy should show his love for you 365 days of the year, not one. But hey, I don't object to being fawned over either. My boyfriend is sweet enough to want to make this day about me, but it's his birthday. So, he might not get his way.

But for you lovely people, everything at Sparkles and Lightning is about you today. Whether or not you've got a sweetheart, I have a giveaway for you. Books are better than boys (or girls) anyway. So no feeling sad allowed. No one should be sad today. Plus, tomorrow all the Valentine's Day candy will go on sale. Just remember this.

As to what I am giving away today? Well, I have some lovely romance books that I loved and that I'd love to have other people read. There are all types. Paranormal, contemporary, tearjerker. There's hopefully something for everybody. I also have some bookmarks and swag and stuff, some of it signed, that I'm going to send to random people, just because I can.

There are no pictures of the swag, because it's super late and I'm super lazy, but some of it is awesome. Well, all of it.

Y'all know the drill by now, or you should. Read my giveaways page, because I can tell when you don't, and I'm not just saying that. Then use the rafflecopter to enter. Much love and luck, as always.

  1. I think my favorite fiction couple is either Abby and Travis from Beautiful Disaster, because they went through a lot of drama to be together, or Echo and Noah from Pushing the Limits, because they two are just too cute, I love both of their stories, so I can`t really choose which I like the best.

  2. I love the couple from Gargoyle of Andrew Davidson,Marianne Engel and the men burned.Their love is cast, pure, platonic.I've never cryed when reading a book but this book made me cry so loud.I love it!I waited 3 years to afford to buy it and it worth all the waiting.

  3. Favorite fictional couple would have to be Sam Henry and Jordan Woods because they're each others best friend and they are a totally down-to-earth/funny couple and aren't extremely in over-the-top love that annoys people. I just love them. :)

  4. I really love Patch and Nora from the Hush Hush series because they're so adorable and I like both of them. Also Ron and Hermione. All that time denying their feelings when they were fantastic together.

  5. I love Jamie & Claire from OUTLANDER. They came from different times, but found that love is love.

  6. This is a really sweet giveaway. And seriously, tomorrow I am so going out to buy tons of candy!! Yum!! One of my very favorite fictional couples isn't one I can really talk about because it's spoilery, so I will choose Marc and Faythe from Rachel Vincent's shifters series. (It's adult, not YA) They have off the charts chemistry, there's tons of obstacles that keep getting in their way, but they are just so passionate and in love even at the times they try to fight it. Well, Marc doesn't, but Faythe does at times, but they are so awesome together.

  7. Lizzy and Darcy are my favorite couple. I always enjoy reading that scene when he proposes to her and she turns him down. It's a classic. Lizzy is just a wonderful character that is not afraid to speak her mind and I love how she forces Darcy to change his stuck up behavior.

  8. I always have a hard time picking one. Loved Lucy and Jude in Crash by Nicole Williams. They were just so cute and their lives were so intertwined. They worked hard for their relationship to work.

  9. Oh, I'd have to say my favorite fictional couple (at this moment in time) is Alanna and George from the Tortallan book by Tamora Pierce. I just finished reading Song of the Lioness, so of course they're on my mind. Plus, out of all the men Alanna had, I don't think I'll ever be able to like Jon again after book three because he was just a total ass. And while, yes, I DO like Liam, a LOT, he and Alanna never would have worked out because he was afraid of magic. And then I started weeping because of everything that happened at the end of Song of the Lioness.
(next week when I'm reading something different, my favorite will change, which is why I said 'at this moment in time')

  10. I adore Jamie and Claire Fraser. The books by Diana Gabaldon follow their courtship, marriage with all big and little problems and joys, which I adore :)

  11. Patch and Nora are one of the most explosive couples. I love their bickering and atraction

  12. It's hard to choose! One of my favorites is Landon and Jamie from A Walk to Remember. Their relationship just feels so realistic and it is so sweet. There is nothing superficial about their love at all and they overcome so much together.

  17. Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Internet explorer.
I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you
know. The style and design look great though! Hope
you get the issue resolved soon. Thanks

  19. I leave a response when I like a article on a site or I have something
to add to the conversation. Usually it is triggered by the fire communicated in
the article I browsed. And on this article "Valentine's Day Giveaway!".
I was actually moved enough to post a commenta response ;) I
actually do have some questions for you if you do not mind.
Could it be just me or does it look like a few of the responses appear as if they are written by brain dead visitors?

:-P And, if you are writing on other social sites, I'd like to follow you. Would you make a list all of all your public sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  20. Too hard to choose. I don't have a favourite.

I just love when couples get together and it feels like it's meant to be. When all the drama goes away and you feel (right to the depth of your heart and soul) that a couple deserves a happily ever after. That they deserve each other.

Sounds lame cause you know... these people aren't real. They're fictional but sometimes - the way they make me feel about them and their relationship...

    I just... love love.

It's the way I feel about Adrian and Sydney in the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead. They make me happy when they're happy with each other.

Hope the boyfriend had a good birthday and you had a great Valentine's day.

  21. I love Jessica Darling and Marcus Flutie from the Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty:)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love Katniss and Peeta's romance. Peeta is just the most romantic, loyal, and lovable character for me.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My favorite romantic couple is definitely Jamie and Claire from "Outlander." They are beautiful and realistic. I love Jamie's willingness to do anything for Claire's wellbeing.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  24. I've always, always loved Emma and Mr. Knightley's romance the most of all fictional romances. Their relationship is so organic and sweet, growing from friendship and mutual respect into a deeper, true love. It's what I dream of having someday :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. My favorite couple is Romeo and Juliet. Their love was so unexpected and forbidden. It was romantic and tragic, but they were willing do die rather than be apart. To me, nothing can really compare to them. Thanks for another awesome giveaway!

  26. Ooh, favourite fictional couple. It'd definitely have to be Ethan and Lena from Beautiful Creatures. They have such a beautiful relationship. They've always been my favourite because their love is so deep and meaningful and their connection goes way past physical attraction. They're connected mentally and emotionally as well, which makes them the most perfect couple ever.
    Thanks for the giveaway! :)

  27. Heathcliff & Cathy from Wuthering Heights. Their love is so deep and intense, it transcends everything, even death, even the fact that they are both deeply flawed people.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Gen and Irene from the Queen's Thief series. They're both rough and broken and distrustful, but they trust each other.

    ReplyDelete
  29. My favorite YA fictional couple is Rose & Dimitri from Vampire Academy! I like how much they have to overcome to be together and the little glimpses of how happy they are in the Bloodlines series!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I like Darcy and Elizabeth because they became better people before they got together.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I commented previously on your Anna Dressed in Blood review

I love Mara and Sheftu from Mara Daughter of the Nile. I like how their relationship evolves throught the story. Both have different views about each other starting with betrayal and forced trust, but gradually begin to fall in love (against their better judgement), then near the end, their love is thretened when Sheftu is fed a lie. Mara is a little known book by Eloise Jarvis McGraw but I would encourage you to check it out as I really loved it.

  32. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are my pick. Their relationship is great, real and you eny Elizabeth too!

    ReplyDelete
  33. My favorite couple from fiction is Will and Tessa. I know they aren't together yet, but their relationship is exactly what I would want. They make each other laugh and they share the same passion for books. Cassandra Clare even said that those who love the same books that you do have the roadmap to your soul, so I think Will and Tessa are perfect for each other.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Probably Eve and Roarke from JD Robb's In Death series. They went through hell during their childhoods and persevered and found each other. They help each other to solve Eve's cases and use all their expertise.

    Thanks for this!

  37. I love Elena and Raphael from Guild Hunter series. I love watching their relationship evolve, they always make adjustments and I like how well they understand each other.
