2013 Reading Challenge
2013 Reading Challenge
On Saturday, I went to The Grove in Los Angeles to see Josephine Angelini! It was a lot of fun. I got my books signed, and she's even nice and more beautiful in person than she is online! It was so great to hear her talk about her books and it was a wonderful experience. I actually have a picture, but that baby needs to go through Photoshop before anyone sees it.
But I did not forget you, my dears! I bought an extra signed copy of Dreamless so that I could give it away to one of you lucky readers!

| The inside cover of Dreamless, signed |
So, one of you will get to win this!
But that's not all!
Josie was sweet enough to provide me with signed Dreamless bookmarks and Starcrossed chapstick. One grand prize winner will receive the signed copy of Starcrossed along with a signed bookmark and chapstick, and six runner-ups (but still winners!) will get one signed bookmark and chapstick each!!

I believe it can happen yes!
ReplyDeleteHmm, that's a tough question! I don't really think you can fall in "love" at first sight.
ReplyDeleteInterest at first sight, yeah.
Attraction at first sigh, yeah.
But I believe "love" is an action. Something you do to show the other person how much they mean to you, so no...I personally don't believe in "love at first sight"
i think a bit like katie, i believe at attraction at first time yes but love takes time, you need to know the others and it's not instantaneous.
ReplyDeleteA spark yes, a fire not ^^
I don't really think its love at first sight.
ReplyDeleteMe, I like to get to know the person better, see if they're like me, and if they're nice or not. Who cares about what they look like-but I suppose I might care, just slightly...
P.S-I'm the one with a blog button page instead of a blog roll!
It's possible. I know many people who claim that they've fallen in love at first sight. I guess it just depends on the people. :)
ReplyDeleteI believe it can happen yes! but it is rare
ReplyDeleteI think that a lot of people believe that they are in love when they first meet somebody but I also really think that you need to know the person. People can be nice when you meet them and crazy when no one is looking...
ReplyDeleteI think there is 'crush at first sight', but not love at first sight.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe it can happen. =)
ReplyDeleteNo not love a first sight!!! You can be attracted and totally be infatuated by someone at first sight but real love takes time and effort to develop!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo I actually don't.
ReplyDeleteAttraction, lust, intrigue are all things that can happen when you see/meet someone but not love.
Love is what happens after you get to know someone.
-martha
I believe in feeling a connection at first sight and it turining into love. ♥
ReplyDeleteYes i do believe in love at first sight :) thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
ReplyDeleteI've never experienced it, but I do believe it's possible.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to believe in love at first sight. I just don't think it exists.
ReplyDeleteLust at first sight... yes, but not true love.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe love at first sights happens outside books.
ReplyDeleteI believe there can be attraction or lust at first sight, but how can you truly fall in love with somebody if you don't know anything about them and you're judging them simply on their appearance?
~Rachel Chan
I like to think love at first sight is possible, so yes
ReplyDeleteI believe in 'like' at first sight but not really love at first sight. I definitely think you can fall hard for someone the very first time you meet them(I did) but I wouldn't consider it love until you know them on a deeper level.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's LOVE at first sight because I don't think it's really LOVE until you actually know the person well. Their flaws and their strengths. So I think it could be really intense like or whatever but not TRUE LOVE.
ReplyDeleteNo. But I do believe in like at first sight :)
ReplyDeleteNope! LUST at first sight, not love. How can you possibly love someone without knowing anything about them? Love is about accepting all their flaws and problems... and you wouldn't be aware at first sight! haha :)
ReplyDeletealso, how cute are those chapsticks?! Love them!!
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI do believe in love at first sight. It happens. It's just wonderful. :)
yes, i do! though now i rephrase them more as besotted at first sight :p
ReplyDeleteThanks for this amazing giveaway! I don't really believe in love at first sight, but maybe because it's never happened to me. I want to believe in it though - it's so romantic!
ReplyDeleteStephanie @ A Dream Within A Dream
I don't believe in love at first sight. Love is about knowing a person entirely - their great qualities and their flaws. You can't completely know a person just by looking at them. I believe in attraction at first sight, but not *love*.
ReplyDeleteNope - GFC Amber Lane
ReplyDeleteWell I don't really know.I guess there is something romantic about believing it. But a the same time, since I have never heard of anyone actually expiring it, it would be kinda.. Pointless to actually believe it. So I don't really know if I do or not :I
ReplyDeleteNot really... I need to know the person so I can love them ley they deserve, you know?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! :]
I don't actually..how can you judge a person based only on looks?other stuff matters too..so no I don't really believe in love at first sight.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you can fall in love by just looking at someone. But i do beleive that you can feel a pull or a strong attraction.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer k.
Hmm, it depends. I think true love can begin with just a single glance- that's when the journey starts. :)
ReplyDelete-Jennifer
I do believe in love at first sight, because if you think someone's cute, chances are you have a crush on them. Eventually that crush could turn into love, so I definitely believe in it. (: Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteNo. Love at first sight doesn't exist. Only in books. Love takes time to happen. Not a day or a week.
ReplyDeleteI dont think "LOVE" would happen at first sight... But the first sight will definitely determine whether you are willingly to give that particlar person a chance at love!
ReplyDelete- Maneesha S Haroon
yes, I believe in Love at First Sight... we really don't know what will happen that's why we cannot judge anyone... Though I really don't think love at first sight is romantic, I just don't know why...
ReplyDeleteI don't. Maybe it's true with other people, but not on me :))
ReplyDeleteI want to believe that love at first sight is real. But in reality I believe that love develops over time and you start to really love somebody after you have witnessed all of their flaws.
ReplyDeleteI do believe when it happens in books, movies but not in real life. I think I am not a romantic person after all :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for this amazing giveaway!
Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI can't say that I believe in love at first sight maybe lust/attraction but not love.
I don't really believe in love at first sight because I think you have to get to know someone to love them! It's a nice thought though :)
ReplyDeleteIm really not sure. It one of those things were i have to see it to believe it.
ReplyDeleteAh! im entered as Samantha D
ReplyDeletei believe love at first sight only in books and movies :p
ReplyDeletethx u ^^
I have mixed feelings about love at first sight. Sometimes I say yes and other times I say it's lust and othertimes I say no. I didn't know I loved my husband when we first met, it took time for us to be together before I was sure but I didn't know that he was important to me and I wanted him to be in my life.
ReplyDeleteI didn't, but then I met my actual boyfriend :) I always thought that I need to get to know someone to like them but with him... I just knew.
ReplyDeleteI want to believe in love at first sight, but I'm not sure it can happen. Anything's possible though :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't. I believe you can be attracted to, interested in or lust after, on first site, but not love. Love takes time.
ReplyDeleteI think it only happens in books & movies.
ReplyDelete(Tudor) on RC
No, I think that love is something that grows in time but at first sight how can you know that person.
ReplyDeleteNo, not at all. Love at first sight can simply be classified as physical attraction, that's it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe love at first sight. I'm a romantic.
ReplyDeleteHmm maybe in a book! Lol but not in real life. I think you can be intensely attracted to someone at first sight, but it's not love.
ReplyDeleteI do believe in ATTRACTION at first sight, but since I believe love has to do with WAY MORE than just mere physical attraction, I guess I don't really believe in "LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT".

No I don't believe in LOVE at first sight. I believe that you can be drawn to someone automatically, but it takes a while and a friendship to create Love between two people.
ReplyDeleteyes i believe in love at first sight but i think that only works for some.
ReplyDeleteRachel V
I don't believe in love at first sight. I think it takes more time to get to know someone better and fall in love with them.
ReplyDeleteyes, I think it does happen.
ReplyDeleteNope, no love at first sight for me.
ReplyDeleteYes!! I certainly do believe:)
ReplyDelete-JennyC
How can you love someone if you know absolutely nothing about them?
ReplyDeleteI don't really believe in true love because look at Romeo and Juliet and where that got them.
ReplyDeleteI'm really not sure if I believe in love at first sight. I do believe that both parties have to work hard for the relationship to survive. So, I guess maybe I don't. I think it's possible to have an intense attraction at first sight, but before one could say they truly love another, they would have to get to them on a very personal level.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
yes i do believe in love at first sight because it happened to me and 5 years later i am still soooo in love!
ReplyDeleteNope. I think you first need to know the person first.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that love at first sight is the only kind of love. I think love comes mostly after knowing the person better. But I still think it can happen. But on a small scale.
ReplyDeleteLove? No, but there is something there, mostly interest I guess, maybe a good vibe even; I also believe that love comes in time because you can only truly love a person's qualities, how he makes you feel and such; and you can't really tell all that if he has just barely said 3 words. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYes! Although I think it is very rare. Hasn't happened to me yet but I hope it does! Thanks for the amazing giveaway
ReplyDeleteVivian M
No I do't believe in love at first sight.. Lust at first sight maybe, but not love.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway,
Kristia Miltiadou.
I read Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini last year and while I liked it, I wouldn't have put it on my favourites shelf or anything. But I picked up Dreamless and I absolutely loved it.
ReplyDeleteI was playing catch-up for a good chunk of Dreamless, however, so I would definitely recommend doing a refresher on Starcrossed if it's been a while! After all, you don't want to be like me and be saying "So who the heck is Kate?"
Anyway, the storyline in Dreamless was much more engaging to me. Although all the various Underworld scenes did get a little repetitive in the beginning, I was rooting so hard for Helen to accomplish her task and once things started really happening in the Underworld parts, I was all for it.
I loved the semi-love triangle going on with Helen and Orion and Lucas. I'm not a big love triangle person, but forbidden love usually bores me after a while and Orion added other options that kept me very entertained.
Or do I have to walk by you again?
ReplyDeleteNo I don't believe in love at first sight. I don't believe you can look and someone and be all like OMG YOU AND I WE'RE WRITTEN IN THE STARS 4EVA.
In all seriousness though. No, I do not believe in love at first sight. Maybe in a couple of hours, days or minutes, sure. Hannah @ The Girl in a Cafe
I don't believe in love at first sight. I know that, at least for me, it exists, after all it's how I met my girlfriend ;) But I guess it always depends on the person as well as the first sight itself...
ReplyDeleteBut nevertheless I'm absolutely NO friend of insta-love and lovetriangles in books. I actually really, really hate them ^^ But maybe that's because they're always cliched, stereotypical and overly dramatic, heterosexual, we-fell-in-love-at-16-and-instantly-knew-we-would-spent-all-of-eternity-together-even-though-at-least-the-girl-never-ever-so-much-as-kissed-another-boy-before relationships? Dunno
I believe it can happen. Only a select few though!
ReplyDeleteI DO! Because I've already fell in love at just a first sight. Maybe because my standards for boys are not that high. :))
ReplyDeleteAt this momment: No, I don't believe in love at first sight... I think you have to know the person to finally fall in love... but also "never say never" (Gosh, sounds so Justin haha) but it's true, you never know! ;)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Ginemoon (Andrea)
I don't believe in love at first sight, I believe in lust at first sight
ReplyDeleteI am a hopeless romantic :) So yes I believe in love at first site!
ReplyDeletelondonjudge@verizon.net
No. I believe in attraction and lust but me for me - Love is all about trust and shared history.
ReplyDeleteI believe that you can have a fantastic connection and electricty and chemistry and all that jazz at first sight. But that's not love. That's just... magical and fantastic but if it doesn't develop into more - then it was never really love.
I do believe in love at first sight! As someone who has seen it in action and read about it so many times it has to be true!
ReplyDeleteBrittany S
yes I believe in LOVE at first sight
ReplyDeleteDaphne
Yes I do :)
ReplyDeleteI do although it's never happened to me before. *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteI entered under Nikki O
No, not really. You can feel an attraction, some kind of pull to that individual. But to really love, you have to know that person, accept their qualities as well as their flaws.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm afraid I don't believe in it. I think attraction is possible right off, but not love. That takes getting to know someone.
ReplyDeleteI want to believe in it SO BAD! However I just can't. I believe that you can feel lust at first sight and turn it into something else but love at first sight is a movie and book fantasy that we all want to believe in and experience :)
ReplyDeleteI would want to believe in love at first sight, but more or less it's just initial attraction. - Len
ReplyDeleteI do :)
ReplyDeleteAshley Chen
It would be really romantic if it is true. But I don't believe in such.
ReplyDeletesomeone people happens this thing but i really don't belive at
ReplyDeleteandi_figueroa
I do belive in love at first sight...
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I believe you can fall in love really quickly, but not just by seeing a person. You have nothing to base your "love" off of except for looks that way. But I do believe you can fall in love at first conversation or date. :) Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDelete- Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl
I don't believe in love at first sight. I believe that love is something that you develop over time and it shouldn't be based on looks. Loving someones looks is lust. I do believe in lust at first sight. If you're attracted to someone the first time you see them, you're attracted to them. That doesn't mean that you love them as a person though. Maybe just their body. hah
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in love at first sight. I believe in attraction at first sight, but that's not love. You have to get to know someone before you can really love them, IMO.
ReplyDeleteI believe in love at first sight, it could look like a simple attraction but I believe it can be more than that. It's nice to believe that just one look can teel you who your true love is.

I believe in affection at first sight & lust. Love much be worked for. It takes a commitment.

ReplyDeleteNo I do not. Love grows from attraction as two people get to know each other.
ReplyDeleteNow, Lust at first sight... that can happen :)
It's something I want to believe in! :)
ReplyDeleteLindsey
I do not believe in love at first sight. I believe it is just lust
ReplyDeleteI hate to be a downer, but no, I don't believe in love at first sight.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly love at first sight, maybe attraction at first sight? It's just one of those things that takes time to develop. It doesn't have to take a lot of time, it's just not instantaneous.
ReplyDeleteOf course I do! It happens all the time in books, and I believe in every thing they tell me. xD
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I do believe in love at first sight, even if it's just a tiny little spark of hope -- I believe that sometimes lovers recognise each other almost instantly.
No, i don't. It's just like (not love) at the first sight.
ReplyDeleteGFC name: Dian Christy
i would say I don't really believe love at first sight. But there is always a possibility.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway...your blog is amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI do believe in love at first sight :)
ReplyDeleteJessie Hay
I don't believe in love at first sight. I think, if anything, attraction is a more appropriate term. I believe that time is of the essence when it comes to love. One needs time to determine and develop one's feelings (attraction, interest, etc.) before it can actually turn into love.
ReplyDeleteEr, I don't know how to express my opinion better. But yeah, I really don't think that there is something such as love at first sight. :)
Yes I do believe at love at first sight, It hasn't happen to me but I do believe in it. Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove at first sight in real life? Nope! In a book? Yep!
ReplyDeleteCherry Mischievous
I didn't believe it until ten years ago. I went to see my friend's band play. I started talking to the drummer. I felt an instant connection to him, so much that I called my Mom the next day and said that this guy was something special. A few months later he proposed, and a few months later we were married. As of July 6th, we've been married 9 years. He wasn't the "hottest" guy or anything like that, I just felt something deeper. So that's my idea of "love at first sight."
ReplyDeletethe imagine tree at aol dot com
i don't believe in love at first sight - it's not love it's attraction. from there you start to get to know the person and eventually love him or her. for me there is no love without trust and i definitely wouldn't trust a stranger even if i am attracted to him.
ReplyDelete
